I had a really good weeks practice after Disley, played a few times and shot some really nice scores , so confidence was high going into Mottram.

I went for a practice round the day before and was expecting the course to be in good condition as it held the seniors tournament there the week before. The course was set up great, a real test and a tale of two nines, the front nine you really could make a score but a missed fairway and a lost ball was to be expected, the back nine and especially the closing holes were a real test and it was a case of hanging on!! I played very solid all day, holed out well and signed for a level par 72 which was good enough for 4th place, an eagle down the last would of seen me sneak into a play off, I hit a great drive but then slightly pulled my 4 iron, maybe a little too aggressive, nevertheless still a move in the right direction again and a positive week.
